What’s in store for that unpredictable Ocean County weather…

Thursday is breezy but relatively mild, then temperatures drop hard heading into the weekend. Late Saturday night into Sunday looks like the main weather story, with snow likely and travel getting dicey, then a bitterly cold stretch to close out the week.

Snow likely late Saturday night through Sunday night, with another chance Monday. (If you are planning any driving, Sunday is the day to watch closely.)

Temps this week

  • Thu: High near 48°F, then colder at night.

  • Fri: High near 39°F, with a low around 10°F Friday night.

  • Weekend: Highs in the low 20s Saturday and upper 20s Sunday, with snow on Sunday.

  • Early week: Highs mostly in the 20s, with another cold night mixed in.

Sunrise/sunset

  • Thu, Jan 22: Sunrise 7:12 am, sunset 5:04 pm

  • Wed, Jan 28: Sunrise 7:08 am, sunset 5:11 pm

Ocean temp

Running around 40°F offshore near the Barnegat buoy as of Wednesday afternoon, so the “quick beach stroll” is the move, not the “oops I stepped in.”

We were wondering…
